Elimination Diet
The Elimination Diet is a medically supervised 30+ day food based plan, considered the gold standard for identifying food allergies and intolerances. During the program, potential food allergens are removed from the diet and then reintroduced one at a time. Participants journal their food intake and track symptoms which are then used to isolate food allergies or intolerances. Medical supervision is highly recommended due to the specific adherences required for the program to be effective and the potential reactivity that may occur during the reintroduction phase. Self-diagnosis and self-treatment are rarely successful.
